STOMPED!

*playing I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic! At The Disco

The end of the IMF-World Bank meetings could also mark the end of the bright flowers that have adorned the streets of Singapore during the period when the meetings were held here. Peter Lin noticed these wilting sunflowers planted outside the National Museum on 22 September. In his email to STOMP, the 23-year old student said: “I feel that the only time Singaporeans get to see such beautiful things is just before the IMF-World Bank event. Did the S2006 committee not realize that the sunflowers will die? Couldn’t we beautify our country with something else that last longer and will be here to stay even after the IMF-World Bank event is over?”

Roaming Suntec City once again

*playing Never Be Lonely by The Feeling

I just can't wait... The IMF delegates meeting are done with. The surrounding suntec city is free to us Singaporeans again! Im going to just walk around suntec tomorrow. I doubt I be buying anything unless they have sale if you show your pink IC or equivalent. (#read: show IMF pass last week got discount)

So for those delegates who stayed behind tomorrow to enjoy our clean and green city and our nicely potted sunflowers along temasek boulevard. Do please spend your $ as much as possible. This is because we Singaporeans got left out for 10 days out of suntec convention area. Smiled as much as possible for you. Decorating our city nicely even repainting the roads. The least you could do is spent spent spent! Although you may find traveling abit of a hassel without the BMWs 7 series. But I do expect the police to be still patroling for this month. Oh and dun forget to tap into our free wireless internet access this month only in suntec area!!! Other month must pay you know....! Unless you go Mcdonald!

Welcome DELEGATES...

*playing Work It Out by Jurassic 5 ft. The Dave Matthews Band

First of all, a big warm welcome delegates of the IMF & the World Bank Group. Starting tomorrow (for some of 1/4 of you since last weekend), you all will be seeing how clean and green our city is and how safe it is at SUNTEC that even us singaporeans are avoiding it totally. You will realise that as the posters and banners do say that we are a global city and also a city of oppurtunities.

As you all may have notice from this blog, that I am a very fond support of MakePovertyHistory.org mainly because Me Myself & I are really very poor. So I do hope you take notice of the "click" advertisement over at the suntec giant TV at the convention centre for the white band! I myself was unfortunately many of the many poor to get notice for this ad and therefore they have hired celebrities to be our voices! Kudos to them!

Lastly, I wish you all a pleasant stay in Singapore and do please do boost our suntec business as well as our economy while you guys are here. We need it, we invested a lot. And finding 4 million smile ain't no easy task. Luckily many citizens are helpful

Singapore Dreaming

*playing Lips Of An Angel by Hinder

I know I'm not quite a supporter of local films due to the fact that we would probably get to see it in a few years time on Local TV. And that the scenes inside are usually where I can identify with as a Singaporean.

When I first heard of Singapore Dreaming, I was skeptical of it. However when I heard that it was the made by the same people who made Talking Cock the Movie. It became the movie I want to go and watch. #of course endorsement from His Excellency President Nathan himself is a booster too.

Talking Cock the Movie(made by the same people who made singapore dreaming) which I did not catch was supposedly extremely funny according to all of my friends who caught it. And if you realise it's not even shown on Channel 5 yet? My guess is that "garmen" wants to support Speak Good English or Hua Yu "COOL". Talking Cock certainly do not fit into any category.

I digress. Singapore Dreaming I quote Mr Nathan is really "LIFE IN ITS REALITY".
It is what all singaporeans dream off and the sort of things they encounter. Be it work, family, friends, school. I do strongly encourage all Singapore Citizens regardless of race. language or religion to give this movie a go. There is definitely something you can identify with.

p.s : Why are my SATURDAYS so boring? It's like I need special events such as birthdays to be able to find friends to go out with.

COMEX

*playing Smile by Lilly Allen

I headed down to comex last week. On the first day as well as the last day (read: due to the cancellation of a certain mahjong session). Anyhow, I bought a razer pro mouse! Cost $79 for the mouse and the mousepad! Yay! This is because when I headed down on the first day, the price was $89 for the bundle offer. So yeah as long as I am happy can already.

Saw lots of friends working over at comex. I was even offered a job. But I declined as it coincides with one of my class days. Besides the pay was horrible! A basic pay of $25 a day? For standing what? 12 hours? That is crazy! And the commission ranges from $3-$10 #note: no prize for guessing how much the customer need to pay in order for me to get $10.

The worse of comex which I'm sure many of you computer geek may encounter is that most of the sales people do not have a clue as to exactly what they are selling. When you asked them simple things like "Hi, may I know how much you are selling the wireless mighty mouse?" They just randomly pull another fellow salesperson and pose the question to them who also pull another random salesperson. When I asked them how to activate the microphone function on the macbook, same goes. This also goes for other major brand who just anyhow hire people who are desperate for cash over the 4 days.

They should have a criteria for hiring people. Maybe pay more for those who display a knowledge over the products they are selling. Not just knowledge of what the product they are selling has which are already displayed on the pamphlet. MORE! Show us more things.
OK... I concurred that I may be displaying the typical singaporean attitude of asking for more. But hey, I am the customer right?

About

My Photo
Name:
Location: Singapore

Not boring not exciting, not lazy not hardworking, not handsome not ugly, not short not thin, not a bad guy not quite mommy's boy either. Regular Singaporean guy who like most guys probably get several different colours of the same shirt, t-shirt, berms, jeans once they fall in love with a particular design. Been through the era of cassette tapes of walkmans to discmans(remember the anti-shock technology) as well as MiniDisc(coming out at a bad time) which obviously lost to the emergence of mp3s and the CD to LD which saw LD losing out to VCDs. Next came the DVDs which 0wned the vcds and try to act smart by having 2 groups, HD DVD and Blu Ray. 2 words BLU.RAY. Loves to reminisce the old days when A&W rootbear float was still around and KFC was still a restaurant complete with waiters serving you Kentucky Fried Chicken. The days where bus fares were 10 cents for students and pizza hut's lunch buffets. Moves/dances to the jumpy music of Ipod Ads and likes to laugh at the Hello I'm a Mac, Hello I'm a PC advertisements!
