Pix on the premiere of DVC

*playing No Tomorrow by Orson

Today's the Gala Premiere of X-Men: The Last Stand.
Unfortunately I was not lucky enough to be invited.
Maybe they forgot...
Or it got lost in the mail or over the airwaves via SMS
Whatever it is I'm catching it this weekend.

So voila the much anticipated Da Vinci Code is now showing in cinemas.
Weiliang and I met up for dinner at Marina Square at this place called Xin Wang Xiang Gang Chang Ting.

We had mainly Maggi mee I think. Some Dim sum. A Beverage and shared a very ice cold mango ice...

Even maggi mee looks appetising sometimes. You guys should go give this place a try as it is something new. A westernised chinese restaurant?
We proceeded to go watch the movie thinking we were early and found people people people

The movie is not too bad. As always it is quite impossible to squeeze all of the book fun part such as deciphering the codes into this 2 and a half hour long film. I would still recommend it to people. Watch the film and you might be intrigued to read the book if you haven't or for my case read it again. 3.6 out of 5 codes.

p.s : Over The Hedge has gotta be one of the few animes that show the bad side of us humans daily life. Potraying cossumerism as one of them. It is done in such a funny way that I would beg you all to go catch it to lighten your day if you had a bad one! 3.6 out of 5 Hedges
p.p.s : but I like the cookie....
p.p.p.s : More Mac Ads. Haha.

Proof of Fine

*playing Crazy by Gnarls Barkley

I have been deciding very long on this and ultimately I have decided to show you guys proof of me being charged! Hey it's very monumental to be charged during your NSF # most people get charged during reservist #. And so proof on me being poor in April and May!

On a different note, Look what I got>>>

That's what you get for being famous lonely. My theory is that someone* up there is pitying me that I am still very single and so let me enjoy such stuffs. Or it could be because I am such a movie buff that they decide I should join the media and other movie enthus towatch it early and recommend to my friends!

p.s : Mahjong kakis hear this! I spent close to a $100 on a mahjong table and tiles. Can't wait to start mahjong sessions at my place on weekends!

The Da Vinci Codebreaker Challenge!

*playing Heard Em Say by Kanye West ft. Adam Levine of Maroon 5

The Team!

Singaporean Spirit when told they cannot open the seal on the envelope!

Will our names appear on this board later on? Can we make Top 20 of the 150 teams?

The 'Seal' on the envelope!

Our Team Number which incidentally coincide with the race day 1305

Would we be able make it on this podium first?

The race that help publicise the movie opening this week!

That's right I broke all 4 codes from 8 Days, TODAY, Class 95 and on Mediacorp Channel 5 respectively and was 1 of the 150 teams selected for this Code Breaker Race! Managed to get Weiliang to be my partner, our partnership has gone through the POD race help in different polys in 2003! However, as in every game, you not only need to be the best, you need luck on your side as well. So we did not win and we had a hunch it was mainly due to our route that our Group "B" took. I am pleased and really felt the winners (2 ladies) truly deserved to win this Code Breaker Race which got themselves a priceless trip on The Da Vinci trail! All 148 other teams concurred too with loud applause when the winners were annouced.

The Codebreaker Race is a race within MRT stations. All 150 Teams were given free access to the stations coutersy of SMRT. There were altogether 8 stations we have to go but we were instructed to go back to The Cathay at the 6 station as the winners were found! From Dhoby Ghaut Sation to Bugis, The race enlighten me and weiliang such that we now know the Eastern Regional Centre is Tampinese. The One and ONLY yellow station is Toa Payoh. The station named after the most famous road is naturally Orchard. A station whose first name is pronouce centre in hokkien and new in malay(ans: Tiong Bahru). Our founder's station Raffles! It was a pity weiliang and I could not go to other 2 stations to at least complete it. Oh and the above stations are in order of our route! A-la-Amazing Race! At each station there were Da Vinci Code related movie posters and sponsors for the shows. Riddles were sent to us via Sms and we have to solve it to get a clue to the next station! It was really a very cool and interesting event to launch a movie. I hope there will be more in future!

Oh yes, we are gonna be the first to catch The Da Vinci Code (149mins) before it opens on 18th May 2006! Ha!

p.s : Poseidon if I were to summarise it would be a Titanic with the action shown inside the ship! It shows the different characters going thru lotsa of stuff such as would you let someone else die to save yourself? Overall I think it's worth watching although some of the scenes were astonishinly impossible! 3.1 out fo 5 Poseidons!

the bbq that never happened

*playing Everyday I Love You Less And Less by Kaiser Chiefs

so we had our annual RP bbq with our lobos.
For the benefit of those who do not understand.
RP = Regimental Police
LOBOS = Young Fresh (pes A/B) privates/corporals out from BMT who is currently waiting for course to start usually signed on personnel or those without a vocation posted to them.

It is kinda late considering we had our bbq on May 1st, Labour Day!
Everyone contributed. 'nuff said. Let the photos do the talking!

the mess!

it's beef patties made from minced beef

The Spread!

Taiwan Cocktail sausages and a meat loaf?

the plate of food/the burnt skinless franks

This is what happens to the beef patties!

Top view!

One of the LOBOS creation... Sotong with Cheese

The meat(beef) everyone was hankering for

The BBQ Sotong on the right
The MeAT! (centre)
The burger buns being toasted to go with the beef patties and warm cheese to create a burger.
Sorry no burger pics though. All burgers that were made were almost instantly snatched and fed into the hungry stomachs! That's the explanation for why no picture was found of a nice burger.
If I can do an x-ray photoshot on somebody #hint hint*#. I could probably find a whole burger being digested! *grins

Awesome Action Packed Show!
Wait cancel that!
It's DAMM ACTION PACKED!
It sets you pumping right from the beginning!
It's JJ Abrams first movie Directorial Debut. His portfolio includes LOST, ALIAS, Felicity!
And he has make it a trademark in his works to have flashbacks!
As what my friend puts it, even if you don't like Mr Katie Holmes, you should still watch it!
As for me, Tom Cruise is one of my favourite actors simply because of his birthday! So you can say that I am bias.

Oh and in case nobody noticed, today's date is written as 04/05/06! Kewl!

As my Pre-Polling Day(holiday to all SAF personnel regardless you working or not!) present to you readers! THIS MESSAGE WILL SELF-DESTRUCT IN 5 SECONDS!

About

My Photo
Name:
Location: Singapore

Not boring not exciting, not lazy not hardworking, not handsome not ugly, not short not thin, not a bad guy not quite mommy's boy either. Regular Singaporean guy who like most guys probably get several different colours of the same shirt, t-shirt, berms, jeans once they fall in love with a particular design. Been through the era of cassette tapes of walkmans to discmans(remember the anti-shock technology) as well as MiniDisc(coming out at a bad time) which obviously lost to the emergence of mp3s and the CD to LD which saw LD losing out to VCDs. Next came the DVDs which 0wned the vcds and try to act smart by having 2 groups, HD DVD and Blu Ray. 2 words BLU.RAY. Loves to reminisce the old days when A&W rootbear float was still around and KFC was still a restaurant complete with waiters serving you Kentucky Fried Chicken. The days where bus fares were 10 cents for students and pizza hut's lunch buffets. Moves/dances to the jumpy music of Ipod Ads and likes to laugh at the Hello I'm a Mac, Hello I'm a PC advertisements!
