Once In A While...

*playing Where'd You Go by Fort Minor feat. Holly Brook

Every writer will suffer a mental block or better known as the writer's block.
So I guess it applies to bloggers as well...
I have been trying to blog something out this past weeks. Especially with me on my last Long OFF. #The next one will come during my birthday after which comes my clearing of leave# Oh not to mention procrastination.

Watched quite a lot of movies, one of which is Take The Lead, which I particulary want to mention because It got me thinking of dancing. And for those who think you are not suited for dancing? Well, ask yourself first, Do you like dancing? If yes, you are suited for dancing.
The show inspired by a real story was courtesy of
THE CATHAY of which I got free passes during their pre-reopening. 3.5 out of 5 Tango or is it Waltz or the Foxtrot?

Right after watching the show, a few days later, I got a pair of tickets to go to see
Burn The Floor
thanks to Youth.sg yet again. Sadly, I couldn't find anyone to join me but I thought oh what the hell and caught it with a few other winners. The broadway-esque showcase was great! A combination of all kinds of dances! The dancers were all awesome! Also by winning the tickets and I'm a quite a firm believer for this kind of coincidence(i mean 2 dance show in a week), I have changed my prejudice views on ballroom dancing.

A few more days those who turned 21 as of December 2005 will be receiving their progress package! Hurrah! Also for some/many, There is an oppurtunity to vote for the very first time in their democratic society! This is only applicable to those whose areas are being contested though. I would like to take this oppurtunity to share the views of both Mr. Miyagi and Mr. Brown on political views. Why? because behind bars got no dial up either! #thanks for the inspiration yo guys!#

Ask what am I going to do with my PROGRESS money? Hey, for starters, about some is going to come to the $150 fine I was punished in camp for neglecting my orders.#It's been a while, I rather not talk about it, as my blood boils at 1000 DEGREES everytime I think of it# And the rest? Well it is Providing Opportunities through Growth, Remaking Singapore for Success right? So as long as I think I am making full use of the PROGRESS $, why should you care? Oh yeah, unless you didn't receive any? #pun intended#

Can vote or not? All will be revealed on Nomination Day 27th April 2006!

p.s : 8 Below, If you like dogs, you like this one. 6 out of 8 Huskies. I have to admit I teared when the dogs were reunited with their Master.
p.p.s : Keeping Mum, Rowan Atkinson's rare speaking role! Oh you all please stop stereotyping him as Mr Bean. Although I am 1 of the culprits. Quite a good plot for a british film. 3.1 out of 5 Mums the Word!
p.p.p.s : The Sentinel, Another Old Man Show, Thankfully, we are in the end of April, up next in May, Middle Age man shows coming like Da Vinci Code(Tommy Hanks), M:I3(Cruisey Tom) XMen3(Jackman's HUGE!) Watch for Longoria's debut leading role opposite douglas and sutherland. I love this pettie mexican hottie! Why ain't my first name TOM and last name PARKER? 3 out of 5 sentinels.
p.p.p.p.s : I forsee Holly Brook achieving the same kind of success with Fort Minor, the one Dido got by partnering with Eminem for STAN!

Rejection

*playing Perfect Situation by Weezer

At some point of anybody's life, you will face rejections, be it the girl/guy of your dreams, the job you hope to clinch, the balloting exercise for a HDB flat, choosing a secondary school after your PSLE, choosing JC/Poly/ITE after your Os, applying to local Unis... Yes, rejection would be a perfect title for this post, since I got rejected by both NUS and NTU. It is something I faced countless number of times throughout my 22 going 23 years. I do not know if it happens to everybody but usually before rejection became reality, don't you all feel that how nice it would be if everything goes your way? Ya like a Perfect Situation? # laughs #

Just gotta go on with my life ah? I know chances are slim but I still got SMU rejection to wait for # insert laughters here # and SIM and Monash TMC to fall back on. But yes I guess like most Singaporean, I hanker for a local Uni entry and my hopes are shall I say 1/3 of a chance now.

p.s : 16 Blocks, Bruce Willis vehicle. One of my favourite actors. However he looks like he is getting old... which means lesser and lesser shows from him! The plot for 16 blocks is quite good and the ending somewhat unexpected but yet expected. 3.8 out of 5 Blocks.
p.p.s : Watch another older man in this show makes me wonder if its the month of the Old Man shows. Harrison Ford clearly is really old in Firewall but yet this shows packs in more action and violence added with a technology plot. You could actually learn some ways to steal information in this show. Watch if you are a Ford fan/Computer Geek. Gets 3.8 out of 5 Firewalls.

Curry Favor

*playing Hips Don't Lie by Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean

Went to Curry Favor today to celebrate Hongwei's belated birthday. It's a Japanese Restaurant which specialises in you guess right curry. Not just any indian, chinese, malay curry but Japanese curry. It was a fun gathering for us guys since it's been a while that we all actually meet up and for a movie(Inside Man) too after.

Ms Lee's present was a Swatch Watch. Which ziting and I met up early to search for. There were supposed to be a few others but in the end it was just us both. We realise we do not have enough cash to pay though and thankfully weiliang came to the rescue.

Reached Curry Favor a tad too early(6.10pm!) from the original booking at 7pm. It proved to be both a right and wrong decision. Wrong because I had to endure my t-shirt and pants being damp for most of the time inside there. The waiter was careless enough to spill chilled water on my back. # start laughing from here on... #

# finished laughing? #

Anyway, I ordered the chef's recommendation of Extra Spicy Seafood Curry which consists Prawn and Scallop. It has got a reasonable amount of serving and the curry is very nice. It is in fact not that has red hot has it sounds as you all already probably should know that Japanese Curry tend to be sweet. The Japanese rice goes really well with the Curry. I make sure all the curry was scrap up. Even "borrowed" some curry from Qian Hui!

Was initially unsatisfied with the service, because after they spilled the water on me. They merely apologised and clean it up. Did not even bother to renew my cutlery and my coaster. <-- to me. Was asking for the bill when the manager told me that he had my main course strike off the bill as compensation. I was of course please to hear that as he did it without me even asking for anything cept the bill of course! Oh well, free food! Made that visit a little more pleasant with this sort of service!

Definitely going back there. Overall food is good, cosy environment, staffs that waited patiently for us until 7pm when we finally made our orders! Prices however is abit too steep! DO NOT MISS this place if you are an avid Japanese Curry Fan!

p.s : Inside Man gets 2.8 out of 5 Ws. The plotline was good right from the beginning. The ending was however kinda poor. Stellar cast but poor ending. Censorship was bad. I want a refund, I did not pay $9.50 to watch a show with dialogues that has muted sound while fu*king somebody!

of lightsabres, skywalkers, obi wan, vader and the force

So thanks to youth.sg yet again. I won a ticket to the Star Wars Exhibition at the Singapore Science Centre. Yes, you heard right! A Ticket. Meaning I would have to go alone. However, Ziting was game enough to join me on his own wallet!

The Science Centre more or less still has not change. I think the last time I went there was during my secondary 3 time. That makes it like 8 years.

Enjoy!

p.s : If I ever have to fail a movie, it is Ultraviolet. As quoted from the moment the credits start to roll, some guy was saying quite loudly, "This is Crap! Thanks for introducing me this." The guy's pal replied, "Hey, I suggested Ice Age!" The fact that I'm giving this movie 2 out 5 violets is because of Mila Jolovich Mila Jolovich and more Milas... Not to mention the cool futuristic disposable handphone, changing of hair/costume colour at will as well as storing weapons in the body. Think of it like a futuristic Kill Bill Vol. 1 except, some actions where Mila versus MANY were not shown convincingly... Later

About

My Photo
Name:
Location: Singapore

Not boring not exciting, not lazy not hardworking, not handsome not ugly, not short not thin, not a bad guy not quite mommy's boy either. Regular Singaporean guy who like most guys probably get several different colours of the same shirt, t-shirt, berms, jeans once they fall in love with a particular design. Been through the era of cassette tapes of walkmans to discmans(remember the anti-shock technology) as well as MiniDisc(coming out at a bad time) which obviously lost to the emergence of mp3s and the CD to LD which saw LD losing out to VCDs. Next came the DVDs which 0wned the vcds and try to act smart by having 2 groups, HD DVD and Blu Ray. 2 words BLU.RAY. Loves to reminisce the old days when A&W rootbear float was still around and KFC was still a restaurant complete with waiters serving you Kentucky Fried Chicken. The days where bus fares were 10 cents for students and pizza hut's lunch buffets. Moves/dances to the jumpy music of Ipod Ads and likes to laugh at the Hello I'm a Mac, Hello I'm a PC advertisements!
