This shop is a gem to be found.
This shop serves authentic japanese pastries
and i can tell you when i was there, all the cakes even one of the sales girl look pretty!

I tried the Mont Blanc and Double Rare Cheese mango.
Awesomeness.

Shall go and try the rest the next time i'm there.

p.s : but its really ulu. You have to take a special trip in order to go.

I'm so frustrated. Life is tough. Because not only you have to live up to your own expectations. There are your family ones as well. We are all indeed survivors if we made it thru and die a natural death.

I would like to take this post and dedicate it to my frustration with my paternal side family particulary my father. With such a family there, if you were me, you will never tell them success stories of yourself. You just go under the radar and only tell them the bad things. However, the downside, is that they will think that it's because I suck. Well I don't, instead I blow.

This post is purely a ranting post. You may not understand what I'm trying to say over here. But the point is that I feel I must never be successful as long as my father exists.

About clashes, Thailand is once again undergoing protests from the people. Causing the immature end of the ASEAN summit. It seems the people of Thailand are never happy with their own leadership. Just look at the number of 'prospective' good Prime Minister they have had. I really hope this will end so that the tourism industry of thailand can start picking up and the government can focus on the matters at hand such as the economy?

I guess we can't do anything now except to pray for them and hope this ends soon.

p.s : Oh and there are clashes at work too. Let's hope everything go smooth from now on, including this blog. =)

Wondering what the insides look like?

Looks like it will not fit my macbook pro...

To be honest, on its own the 'laptop carrier' that is attached in the interior of the bag doesn't seem very promising...

Lots of overlapping flaps.

Fits my macbook pro just nice though....

With my macbook pro in it...

Overall on its own this laptop carrier bag looks complicated...
therefore it gets minus point from me.
The whole bag is interesting by itself since you can stand out from the rest of the world who owns crumplers (myself being one of them)
However the thing about crumpler is that their laptop cover bags are actually quite durable and probably can withstand a soft hit on the ground. The AGVA laptop bag however don't seem quite durable once you take the laptop cover out of the bag. It's mainly more or less a laptop carrier bag or protective cover but does not serve any purpose in protecting your laptop against knocking hard stuffs.

A new beginning awaits me in May. The first step into the endless and seemingly never ending working life will begin for me on May 20th 2008. I'll officially start contributing to CPF on a regularly basis from that day onwards and hopefully live long to be able to spend it. Ironically, it is so funny how 1 month ago, I was in depression and 1 month later I was in dilemma but the good thing is I would rather be in a dilemma then in depression as dilemma you have choices while depression you will most likely just sink further.

I hope every downs of my life will start to pick up now because truthfully I think I just enter the eligible bachelor category. I'm not Gay, I'm not Married and I have a job!

I titled this post as a full stop. Reason being, I hope this marks the end of my first real job hunt which took an amazingly awesome painstaking heartbreaking depressing clost to 5 months.

I guess by now some of you may already know but March was a really difficult time for me. I was literally in the Depression Annoymous club while putting on my mask of happy face for my friends and family to see. It was as a friend has said, those who are always happy may really be the most troubled person deep down. Well, I guess she was spot on. She was also spot on in suspecting I was actually quite down and I guess there's where I made a new friend.

My life during March was literally at an all time low. Not having a job was one thing, no love, no money, even travel plans for my upcoming convocation was not really ready and when it was, I suddenly had to fork out much much more just because I'm the odd one out of the group. I do not however blame anyone, as a friend mentioned, I try too hard to impress and I think too much which would very much contribute to my depression. I try to look at positive sides sometimes during March, yet everywhere I look, everything else just make me feel more emo. I mean I always believe when you are down on your luck, somewhere else in your life is probably going upwards yet I could not even catch a glimspe of it. It got so bad, that I avoided my grandparents who stayed above me as I do not want them to ask me about my job hunt. I felt so unfilial but yet I really do not wish to be reminded by them should they ask how's my job search.

A talk with a friend on April Fool's day, woke me up and since then April has been quite a good month, I managed to laugh off oppurtunities that did not come knocking, interviews that I performed terribly and always looking forward to impress at the next corporate I go. And so it's almost a month since the talk now and I'm glad to say I have 2 offers on the table and another potential one or two coming on Friday. I'm now in another kind of dilemma, spoilt for choice. It would be nice if I can actually evaluate all of them together but alas one offer is expiring in less than 9 hours time and I really have to decide if I should take a gamble and wait for the potential one on Friday. Should I decide to take up the gamble, I hope luck will really be on my side this time round.

Anyway the food here is damn expensive. The food is good but just not worth the money. You should just come for desserts though.

Equinox Semi-Buffet experience

Taking the express elevator that only goes to the 70th floor will surely made everyone's ears get blocked. However what awaits above is a beautiful view of Suntec Area which consists of Esplanade and Singapore Flyer, the construction of the marina bay IR, the heart of CBD, Raffles Place with boat quay situated beside it. The many highrise buildings towards the west. Yes, If you need a sky high view, this is probably the highest you can get in Singapore City.

Coming Equinox for the Semi-Buffet was my sister's idea of treating me for my impending graduation and I'm thankful for that. It just so happen that for the month of April and May 2008, there's a 20% discount if you use UOB credit card. So it was a no brainer actually.

Being a semi-buffet means that the food serve on the buffet are appetisers only such as cold dishes and sashimi and salmon. Oh not to forget the restaurant's signature dish of Pan Fried Frois Gras of which I took 7 servings of. It's such a delicacy that I pity those who do not even dare to try given its infamous and yet unique french name. However, I by the 6 serving of Frois Gras, I started to get sick of it and therefore my 7 serving only came because the counter was closing and it was the last few pieces. Haha.

We order a main course to be shared between my sister, my brother-in-law and myself as really whenever we go for buffets the cold dishes and sashimi are the ones that really made us go for buffets even outside.

The Sashimi spread here is good, you get Ark Shell Clam, Salmon, Tuna, Ika, Tako, Sea Bass. The handrolls came in 2 flavours, Ebi Prawn and Crabmeat with roe, There's also cold soba and buckwheat soba as well. The sushi is the one to look out for. As everytime the waiter takes out a new sushi plate, only 2 of which will be Ikura. And throughout the entire time there, my sister only got to the plate once. Still it's better than not getting at all.

The oysters serve here has 2 varieties, US oysters and coffin Bay. At first bite, I prefer US oyster but subsequent tasting coffin bay came tops. Sri Lankan Cold crab was serve here too as well as mussels. One appetizer to look out for would be the portobello mushroom. It is just excellent.

Desserts wise, creme brulee wins big time. I managed to grab the last serving and I must say it is definitely one of the best creme brulee I ever tasted. They serve it in small bowls which is just not enough. but I do believe the thought of allowing diners to save stomach space and try out variety came to mind. Still it's a pity I only got 1.

Overall the quality of the food here is very good, the ambience being a fine dining restaurant is quiet, pretty good for small talks and for romance. The scenary provided is awesome however do remember to try to ask for window seat when you make your reservation.

A Special Drink

Only one store in Adam road food centre sells this and the name of this drink is none other than SPECIAL. At only $1.50, drink and determine exactly what sort of fruits went into this drink?

As exotic as it looks it is really quite good and a best seller drink from the drinks store.

On a side note, I finally got to tried J.Co's Donuts. The "OTHER" donut store hailing from Indonesia that has been attracting the crowds away from Donut Factory at Raffles City Basement.
All I can say is DOH.
Once a fan of donut, always a fan of donuts!

So my uni friends and I planned a dinner gathering to discuss about our gradaution trip in may. And we chose SHOKUDO Japanese Food Bazaar as firstly since it follows marche's concept of everyone having their own card. It was easier for us to pay our individual bill at the end.

We arrived at 6.20pm and already there was a queue building up. Are Singaporeans having earlier dinner nowadays or was it just me?

By the time we actually entered, it was close to 7pm.

First impression, great varieties of japanese food. So many choices so less money and all looks OH-SO-DELICIOUS good. Very market like (read: noisy, crowded, many stalls)

After settling down on our table and hearing one of the staff pouring out her sorrows about some table arrangement which involves us, we set out to buy our food. I think I walked like 3 rounds before eventually deciding on what to eat.

My sister have already told me about the japanese pizza (must try!) beforehand. So it was a no brainer to get one of those. After contemplating between japanese pasta and omu rice, i settled for omu rice Hamburg. The omu rice is not bad, tomato covered with ommelette but i would say it does not go well with a hamburg so my advise would be to get a chicken chop instead.

The desserts sold there although not as much choice but it makes you feel like trying all of them. I eventually settled for mango slush ice which was not a bad choice as my friends all agree it is nice.

The service over here was so-so only. They cleared some plates on our table but yet left others around. If you don't mind the queue and noise, I think it is worth coming when you feel like eating quirky japanese food stuff as some japanese food sold here are things like skewered meat and seafood or if you want to be spoilt for choices.

I spent a total of $32 although value wise u can probably top up a bit and go for Japanese buffet but sometimes you know you just don't feel like having buffets? And it is really dependent on how u spent your money to try the stuff not normally sold elsewhere in Singapore.

I'll definitely come back. Hopefully by then, the hype is gone.

The title is the name of this above pic game that my friends and I were taught during Chinese New Year when we visit our secondary school teacher. It's almost as fun as mahjong as it requires lots of thinking and technique. Oh and you can learn chinese when playing this game cos you need to memorise the tiles in order as above from left to right, the ranking of the tiles goes from left(lowest) to right(highest) I feel like getting myself a set of this and try to influence people to play this. According to my secondary school teacher's hubby, this game if play by $0.10 can in one round make you lose $1024. I think we can do away with a certain rule in order to not sell house sell wife sell car when we play this game. Lol.

Long awaited pictures from my gig event job at the Ritz Carlton Millenia.
My role was as the presentation track assistant which was essentially to ensure notes are giving out during the presentation on time. Hinting to the speakers that their time are running out as the next speaker is waiting as well as holding the mikes and spotting questions from the participants during the Q&A sessions.

At first I thought I could sit through and try to understand the terminologies the investors were using and maybe learn something from it. My First proper post since coming back from China. I can only say that I have been busy with Chinese New Year, Event jobs as well as interviews. So the long weekend of chinese new year is gone. And almost everybody is going to be working tomorrow except me (#read: I'm still holding on for a good offer)

Anyway, here's some pictures of a french restaurant FRE(N)SH I visited hidden in a corner at vivocity. Obviously they serve authentic french food which is not so bad.

The restaurant is very small which probably sit less than 20 people indoors and about 10 more outdoors. Besides Tartine and the usual desserts, they also serve Quiche pronouced Keesh which is a round pie like thingy. 大家好!

I'm blogging from the Shanghai, China! Weather is super duper cold here. Brought along my samsung T10 here to keep me company when I'm in need of music. Went to check out the sim lim square of Shanghai (#read: electronics mall!). Depending on what products it could be cheaper by a twenty over dollars or expensive by about a hundred singapore dollars. For the first time, I got to see up close the other colours of the T10 and I must say RED looks really nice. So people, do use your incoming ang pow money next month to buy the T10 ya?

I found out something i do not like about the T10. The screen "scroller" instead of continuing the songs or text when the end of page is reached it basically jumps to the next page. Also for some unknown reason, music can be rather jumpy probably due to interference from other bluetooth devices? Still, the wireless free life I'm having whenever I use the T10 overrules all the flaws I have encounterred so far. So it is definetely recommended still!

Been using this for almost everything. The radio function is kinda tough to tune but the auto tuning makes up for it. The touch sensitivity of this gadget is sadly not very sensitive enough which is disappointing. Sound quality is quite good seconded by many of my friends and yes everyone likes the animated screen. I browse some of the pictures on the screen and I must say the colour is very vibrant. Been loving the hassle free burden of getting my headphones wires tangle with this wireless Samsung Bluetooth headset SBH 500

So my gang did not managed to get a place at kushinbo thus decided to try Hanabi as it so happens they had quite a big print ad on the papers on the 17th December. The price wise would be the same as Kuishinbo except that we will be served and there was no Crabs.

Complimentary items over here was the half lobster which is given for every 3 adult buffets and a paper crab steamboat for every 4 adult buffets. They also served a one time item between swordfish sushi or uni sushi which as you can see, we chose uni sushi. Maybe it's as what my sister say to have uni you really have to go to japan and eat it fresh just like how you eat durian at geylang. But overall, it did give a number of people on my table the "first" time eating uni. The lobster was so so whilst the crab steamboat was excellently savoury thanks to the sweetness from the crab i assume.

We kept ordering the sashimi moriwase as it was really very fresh and well sliced. Other hot items are the pepper beef, the tempuras and grilled saba. The service that day was quite good too.

As a chawanmushi lover, you would never catch me not eating chawanmushi in a japanese buffet spread however I am disappointed to annouce that the chawanmushi served here though was just only so so.

Overall, I love my visit at hanabi @ odeon and i would definitely recommend sashimi lovers to come here. Would probably look forward to visiting the outlet at bukit timah as it is supposedly better according to one of my friend.

Pictures from my recent supper with my aikido mates at newton circus.. where we were almost chopped like roberts

Food looks good but actually it is just average. The crispy squid thingy is too hard its as if you are not even eating squids. The prawns are ok only. So are the Kangkong. We ordered 5 bowls of rice. Guess how much the store charged us? $191! Crazy I rather go Shangri La to eat The Line.
Initially my aikido mates and I paid first. Then after contemplating about how the cost can rise so high as the prawns are charged at $7 per 100grams and the kangkong is only $6 plus the squid thingy which is $15. After calculating among ourselves for like 20mins we got the person to come back and calculate for us. Somehow or rather the drink store lady beside this seafood store gave a smirk as if she had known all along that this store has always been chopping customers. Well in the end the cost went down to $107. The person was clearly sad at the thought of not able to chop us. He is lucky I never even report him or rather don't know the procedure to report this type of thing also I don't want to waste my time on him.

Had a graduation lunch buffet on a saturday with all my fellow uni mates over at Pearl River Restaurant.

It was the first time I was here and I have heard many good stuff about this place.To our dismay we encounter a bad service staff who keep rushing us to order food when our table wasn't full. I really wonder why is he rushing. Well anyway things improve after our head of the table went to have a talk with the manager. Overall besides that rushing part, the service there was not too bad.

The dim sum buffet over here is quite ok. The most popular item would probably be the shao mai which we had many seconds ordering. Perhaps its because there were no har gow in the buffet menu and that's why the shao mai came in.
We were each serve a bowl of shark's fin soup and 100g of live drunken prawns per person and mine oh mine these are quite good. You can clearly taste the freshness of the prawns.
Many highlights of the buffet included the Roasted pork which is crispy and yet juicy but not in the oily kind of way. They serve many items as evident in the menus i uploaded, mind you, i forgot to take a picture of page 4 though.

The desserts can be a go or no go for you here. Because personally I think it is quite well done. Like all typical chinese restaurants, the deserts offered here are mango sago and red bean soup. Their mango sago was not too bad. I didn't try the hot red bean soup as I was too full. There were other stuffs like Herbal Jelly and Mango Pudding along with seasonal fruits and some cakes.

Overall this is quite a good place, I wonder does anybody know they serve buffet because I went on a saturday yet it was moderately occupied. Could be a hidden dim sum buffet find for all you know.

It is essentially Egg fried with Bean Sprouts with a bit of fish maw i think But it is mainly egg and bean sprouts in my opinion

Marinated Duck wings GOOD!

Fried Fish quite dry but edible

Sweet and Sour Pork. Ok only.

Steamed Glutonious Rice. Ok only also.

Sliced Beef with spring onion. Excellent dish. We had 3 orders.

This is some calamari thing. So so only. So far I think if you ever want to eat calamari go to marche or a western stall.

This fried fish slice is tasty and nice but slightly salty though.

Char Shao Bao 最爱吃的就是叉烧包 Fillings are quite genourous in my opinion.

Seasonal Fruits. Nothing interesting.

Samsung T10 & SBH500

First Impressions of the Samsung T10. Very sleek, yet seem to plastically fake from the back view.
As with most of its other products including phones. It is operated by using your touch sensitivity,
which IMHO is really cool and futuristic. The wireless headset the Samsung SBH500 that was provided along with the Samsung T10 for this user trial seems simple enough too. It totally overwhelms the T10's package by its size. I shall go explore the functions of the T10 as well as pair my wireless bluetooth headset to my phone and the Samsung T10 before I report more.

The Heartbreak Kid a comedy remake of the 1972 film of the same name directed by the Faralley Brothers who are better know for the hit There's Something About Mary with the infamous "hair gel" scene.

In short, Eddie is a single 40 year old who is still indecisive about taking the plunge. With the urging of his father and best friend, Eddie finally proposes to a girl, Lila, after only 6 weeks. Hence begins the honeymoon when Eddie begins to discover things he hadn't known about Lila beforehand and starts to have doubts about his marriage. Coupled with eyecandy, Miranda, he met in Mexico, Eddie realizes his destiny may actually be Miranda...

If you are looking for a really hilarious time, the Heartbreak Kid will probably disappoint you. Much of the humor was in the first half hour of the show. After which, the only real laughter that you get is mainly from Eddie's father, Doc, who interestingly enough is played by Ben Stiller's real father. Not to mention the 4 mexican dudes who seem to appear at the most "appropriate" time to play their mexican tunes.

Michelle Monaghan plays Miranda, the eye candy of the show who does not need to resort to comedic lines to make an impression to the audience. Malin Akerman who plays Lila, is the other girl who will eventually be heartbroken by the Heartbreak Kid. Eva Longoria also makes a cameo in this show.

Overall, I think the Faralley Brothers may have lost their touch in making the audience laugh as hard as before. I would still reckon ripplevoxers to go check out the show themselves as the show still has some element of humor. Personally this show gets 2.8 out of 5 heartbreaks.

Results were out last week, and thankfully I passed all without even using my wildcard.
Although I score high disctionctions for a unit but another 2 units which I had high confidence in
somehow turnout with a credit and a pass respectively. I had dreamt that I got 3 Distinctions with a Near Pass
which is a Pass essentially if it's your final term. Well as you can see my dream did not even hit any which I am somehow thankful for yet frustrated.
Well I do hope that this inaccuracy in my dream doesn't work for other dreams because I don't want my other dreams to turn out different.

SITEX was ridiculously boring due to a HALL being totally dedicated to home appliances.
IMHO hall 5 should just be renamed HARVEY NORMAN Home appliances instead of SITEX. Because every booth you buy things from hall 5 seems to lead to HArvey Norman.
Well, Sunday was quite an eventful day for me at least, and I must thank SITEX for it too.

Moving on to my life, it would seemed to me, that my overnight mahjong days are getting dimmer with mahjong leggers getting jobs or being busy with girlfriends.
I really should go find one too. But I just lack the courage. It would seem to me that this time round, should I even try and fail, I might as well just kill myself already.
Yes, it is that serious. I know you people will probably ask me to just go try as you never know until you try. But this time round it's really different.
I think I'm getting too many mixed reactions. Optimistically speaking, I stand a chance I think. Pessimistically though, she's just being nice.
In case you do not know, I'm quite an optimistic person when looking at other things in life but towards love, let's just say its not good.

By the way, I discovered something about myself recently, nope not like the adverts where peter petrelli or hiro nakamura or claire bennett discovers their powers,
I for one do not have any although I would love to have either Peter Petrelli's Power or Matt Parkman's power. What I discover is that I just can't seem to talk on the phone,
to girls I like. I don't stutter but somehow I do not know how to talk, to say it nice, I just want to hear her voice but yet I'm speechless, even a small hello seems difficult to muster.
I was told by a few female friends that I hold a good conversation as I really listen, I guess I was taught how through TV shows and movies but yet I do not seem to be able to use my
'ability' when on the phone with her. (#note: this applies only on the phone, MSN wise or even face to face is definitely better than phone) Many of you may think I must be a weird person
hiding behind the computer to talk but trust me I would much rather talk on the phone.

It would seem picking up the phone and calling her number and talking to her requires a humungous courage which brings me to this first single inconsolable from the latest Backstreet Boys Album
where there's a line which says "I climbed the walls, I could see the edge but I can't take the fall. I memorized her number so why can't I make the call..." I think my current situation
which I discovered would be just this 2 lines.

It has been a year since I officially gotten my pink IC back from the dreadful hands of the green people. Therefore, I promised myself I would blog something.

My life up till now has been full of ups and downs but so far the whole of pig year has been quite good to me except for a losing mahjong streak, love life is stagnant #note dengue could be breeding..., and lack of $.

I do wish it to only improve though.

Digressing totally, I told myself this morning I needed to take note of today because of a weird dream that I dreamt of last night. What dream? I would not say? In future maybe? But I must admit it felt real and it felt like it might happen. What you blogders need to know that it involves one part of what i mentioned in the second paragraph. The reason why I want to blog yet not tell more about it because I want it to be inside my own memory and just by reading about this blog I will remember it and smile subtly.

Exams start next week and my first paper is on Friday. Wish me luck!

All the assignments are done

So finally all my assignments have been submitted and for the next few weeks it will be play and study week followed by the last burst of fire at the exam centre. I'm kinda worried that I can't perform well in the exams as per my 2007 semester 1 standards. I feel I set myself too high a standard but it kinda motivated me in some way to perform the same in this semester but this also means pressure. Besides I have been really slack this semester especially for my assignments 1. I think it's mainly due to the thought that I'm finishing up my studies, my past few semester was way much different. I work really really hard in my first semester when I enter Monash Uni but still ended up with very unsatisfactory grades even failing one of them. My summer semester was not too bad. I believe I work equally hard during assignment period and yet once again only successfully did well in one of them I think. The other one was a stunner shocking all students earning me a pass only. However slack I may be during my semester 1 of this year, I felt I still did put in much effort although not as much as my first semester, maybe its because the units really spark my interest or rather I understand just by looking at them once but I know I put in much effort then. Present day, semester 2, I do not know why but somehow my mind draw a blank if i can't get any idea to kickstart the assignment questions. It's like a writer's block. You do not know how to start but once you start, you can write tons of it. That being said, I'm glad to have a bunch of good friends and clasmates. Assignment 2 was much better in that my brain had already started moving from assignment 1 so starting 2 wasn't much of a problem. Still I would like to say gambatte for the upcoming exams my friends! Looking forward for a grad trip and graduation next May in Melbourne!

I went to THE LINE today, and oh my god! The food that is available there are reek full of awesomeness!
It was my birthday treat which I waited for more than a year it was suppose to be last year's birthday treat but my sister got married a week before my birthday and they went on honeymoon and THE LINE just keep postponing until today! It is actually quite expensive if you ask me but it's worth a visit and consider this, if you actually eat it during lunch you sort of cover all 3 meals, I know I did. So let's say each person cost $45 (after discount from HSBC) for lunch but for 3 meals and you get such a spread I think it's quite worth it! PLUS the desert counter is fabolous serving crepes, puddings, cakes, fruits, MIX YOUR OWN ICE CREAM counter(there's some stores in Singapore doing this business, One of them is at holland V). Basically, you choose the ice cream flavour (e.g. Chocolate) den choose the ingredients E.g. Milo nuggets, white chocolate, Oreo, then the staff will mix the ice cream with the ingredients and voila~ your very own ice cream.

I can't wait to head there again but god knows when to try out tuesday evening as they happen to have Oyster night on every Tuesday serving 10 varieties of Oysters on top of its buffet!

Then there's of course Marine Harvest Night on every Thursday #note: no discount applicable on Thursday and Sunday Brunch as well as Public Holidays and Eve of Public Holidays

Have been busy since the 3rd week of august with all my assignments followed by the last week of august which was spent planning my new desktop system. Yes, I have finally upgraded my desktop. Now running on Core 2 Quad with GTS8800 640MB graphics card 2GB ram and a 500GB hard drive to boot. Research was also done on which router to get at Comex as well as helping my cousin, godsister, friends on looking out for the best deals at Comex and not forgetting the Heroes world tour @ Vivocity Singapore all in the midst of attending a Getai and 7th month dinner held by the building which my godfather's company reside in and not forgetting to attend a friendship seminar in which my aikido sensei's sensei who is also considered my grand sensei (based in thailand) Fukakusa Shihan.

Since School started this semester, I have been slacking, laying off tutorials and assignments. Now deadline's coming soon and yet I'm still slacking... It did not help that I have not been feeling well since yesterday evening...

What have I been doing you say? Well, watching lots of movies like Indiana Jones yes all 3 of them. That's in anticipation for Indiana Jones 4 coming next year. And also shows like Terminator 1 and 2 since there is a new TV series called Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles showing in the US soon. It's plot revolves after the end of Terminator 2 and from the way I see it, It kinda makes it such that Terminator 3 might not even happen. Also there are rumours that Terminator 4 may happen in 2009 as well as shows like Fantastic Four.

As you can see, Life seems a tad boring without mahjong and Texas being mentioned. But well
, cest la vie! If everything goes well, I should be able to finish my Undergrad studies and then go for job interviews soon. But I think to do that, I need to push myself to start doing my assignments first.

p.p.p.p.s : Perfect Stranger may be a bit boring at times but the twist in the end may well be worth catching for twist feisty people.
p.p.p.p.p.s : Speaking of twists, Jay Chou's directorial debut in which he acts, directs, sings as well as play the piano is one excellent movie. It is funny in someways thanks to Anthony Wong and of course romantic if you are a romance person. The twist was predictable well at least to me. I actually guessed it right. Still it's a definitely must watch for jay's fans as well as couples who enjoys love stories. 4.1 out of 5 Secrets.

So I haven't blogged for a while as I'm experimenting the writer's block. Or you could also say that there wasn't anything exciting to blog about besides my last semester in school.

So well, the only happening thing that happened was the visit to Sushi Yoshida for Ziting's birthday. It was a wonderful experience minus the place we went after Sushi Yoshida...

Sushi Yoshida was recommended on 8 Days food article on the Tuna Otoro (best part of the fish belly) and we just had to try it when we were there!

Some kind of fried fish. Meat taste good... so does the fish bone... I'm serious.

So after Sushi Yoshida, we headed to i21 shop at cineleisure to shop about... Still feeling sort of empty in the stomach, we headed to the Maestro Bistro cafe on the 2nd level of cineleisure. It was a mistake and our heavenly exprience start turning hellish from the moment we were seated... Here are the flaws:
The lighting above our cushion area was flickering...
The staff took a while to notice us.
It's supposed to be a 24hours cafe but at 9.30pm-Many items on the menu such as the Tofu Burger and meatballs were finished.
The drinks are tasteless (luckily I didn't order any) Ziting's cappuccino is totally tasteless yet it really looks very coffee likish... Weiliang's lemon tea taste like Ice Water Lemon that has the colour of lemon tea. Only the blended fruit drinks passed although not excellent..
After mentioning to the staff about ziting and weiliang's drinks, weiliang's ice lemon tea came back tasting sweeter thus meaning they really had forgotten to add the syrup... ; Ziting's drink taste no difference from when it first left.
Our much awaited "main course" came 2 chicken cutlets (read: wenyao and mine) and fish & chips for weiliang.
The fries were ok. So were the fish. And of course the cutlet.... at the beginning... After a few bites and chatting with the guys... I started feeling as if the chicken is getting chewier. Finally at one point I felt that the cutlet was really taking too long to cut with my knife. I look at the piece of meat and saw that it was red!!!!!!! yes RED! Can you imagine it? Medium rare chicken cutlet? Since when they started serving this new delicacy? Wenyao also found his cutlet not well cook but at least it does not even look red...
Both of us ask for the staff and informed them about the situation. They took away our food and and then came back with the same plate... From what I know as my customer rights, I clearly remember that they should change a new plate for me unless i tell them otherwise. The person did not even ask us... The same plate came back to us means that the staff brought our food and deep fry it again!!! Wenyao was quite pissed and inform the staff again, we then saw the staff gather around the counter area and discuss, finally, the person-in-charge came to us and finally ask us what we needed, to be safe, we decided to ask for the item to be strike off the bill as you never know what they will do to our food given the services rendered so far and numerous request which we called for... After paying the bill we left. It was truly a hellish experience... Although being serve medium rare cutlet was quite funny.

School has started although assignments have not rushed in yet (but yet I can already feel it coming). I am beginning to miss my sleep. Cos of the four days i need to go to school... 3 requires me to wake up early in the morning...

This is hopefully going to be my final semester and i hope to score equally well as I did in semester 1.

On a side note, I have finally completed Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars... Have been delaying it for a while since assignment 1 in semester 1 due to school.

I'm feeling on top of the world cos I scored not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4 but 4 Distinctions for all 4 of my units. It's the first time I scored Distinctions since I entered Uni. And it's about time since my GPA needed some bucking up... Need to score equally well this coming semester cos currently my GPA is still average only... The 4 Distinctions came at a time where I have been losing 9 out of 10 mahjong sessions and my total losings have reached almost $500 and that does not include my genting casino trip $300 gone and spoiling my phone which cost $80 to repair...

Semester 2 starts today but class only starts from Thursday only... Most likely this will be my final semester. I must gambatte!

My study semester is officially ending this coming week. Followed closely by a study break and then Exam period will commence. My assignments 2 were thankfully rushed in on time last friday... which was followed with a mahjong session. Woohoo! Went to catch Pirates Of The Carribean : At World's End on saturday thanks to qianhui who had organise the dinner and movie watching as I was too busy and tired to plan anything...

After the movie there were two options, Texas Hold'em or Chill. We decided on the latter as Kelly and her friend, Weishu would probably not be so keen on gambling dens... haha. We headed towards TCC at selegie which was crowded and ended up at Mr Bean across the road. While pondering on our plans to go genting admist the drink ordering. I casually mentioned KTV and lo and behold, we headed to kbox at selegie. After deciding that it was too expensive, we then proceed to party world opposite Meritus Mandarin. There we sang till 3am and extended till 4am...

Come to think of it, it was our KTV session as a group! Wow...

Am watching spiderman 2 now and started to compare how this part 2 compare to part 3.
Part 2 is definitely much more funnier with slapstick lines and qualifies more for a family entertainment show. This is definitely in tune with the spiderman being more in tune with all the children. Part 3 however has darker version not just the black suit which was cool I must say, Venom being potrayed so horrifying it makes part 3 feels somewhat like a horror movie when Eddie Brock turned Venom. The thing that both shows have in common was the otherwise not important "musical" part where in part 2 peter parker after giving up his identity as spiderman lives the daily life of an average student and in part 3 peter parker after giving in to his dark side prances around flirtingly with any random women he sees.

On a side note, I have officially gotten my class 5. Hooray! Now let's start the final 2 assignment push!~

I just cleared one my assignment2 out of 4 units. 3 more to go... Next few weeks going to burn the night away clearing them...
Manchester United are now 9 times champions and I'm really proud of them although my prediction of a treble did not happen but I reckon it was the closest since 1999 and it really was tough to get to the top this season. Only one more Cup this season for manchester united and chelsea to play for. I'm rooting for my team for the double!

Threequel summer

The summer where all the threequels has begun... and leading the pack is spiderman 3.
I highly recommend you to watch this movie. Running on a duration of 140minutes. It has so much action that it will blow your mind away!

Next up on the sequelish and threequelish movies are 28 weeks later, Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End (read: good old "singapore" is featured), Shrek the Third, Oceans 13, Fantastic 4: Rise of the silver surfer, Bourne Ultimanium, Rush Hour 3, Evan Almighty and many others. And who knows next next summer we might get to see Transformers 2?

On that note, It was hell of a good labour day for me to relax before the rushing of assignments 2 begin and yes its not helping when all my friends from NUS NTU are holidaying now while my holiday only begins from June 21st not to mention the summer blockbusters heading our way.

Finally all my assignments 1 was completed as of last friday.
However the bad news was that within 10 days i got to hand up the first of assignment 2.
I had a great weekend though, did things i haven't been doing like late night supper, late night movie...a movie marathon, free by the way with free flow macdonalds to go along on a saturday(kudos to power 98 and HIP). Overnight mahjong. Dinner with my aunt.
Oh and I finally got my black belt 2nd kyu. Yup you heard it hear first. The black belt which I should have gotten if not for NS. I gotta work hard for my 1st kyu and then hopefully shodan soon.

Korea Trip

So many things happened.Back from Korea, Chinese New Year Over. Some relatives smartly avoided giving me ang pows cos I was away for the first time during Chinese New Year. My Mum has gone back to America. Results for summer semester was released and I luckily passed both units. Semester 1 for 2007 begins. Second time the pig year has come knocking on my door...
#note: It took me a while to compose this post.

First Meal, Dumplings steamboat. Had my taste of kimchi and found out later that my stomach cannot take kimchi unless is seafood kimchi cos vegetable kimchi has got so much air that it cause me to have stomach problems

We then check in at Ocean Castle Hotel where they have a Hot Springs over there. No pictures taken though. Too busy relaxing... Our dinner was Mushroom steamboat #note: also no picture. It was supposed to be seafood steamboat but due to it being the Lunar New Year 2nd day. The seafood was supposedly not fresh. It was not too bad though except there was no meat and also non buffet style.

On the second day at Korea we travel long and far (4 hours bus ride) towards our destination, Dragon Valley. Before that we had breakfast at the hotel which was American breakfast. Thankfully no kimchi.

For Lunch we had Squid steamboat! Buffet Style.

After lunch we checked into the hotel, and proceeded to gather our gear for our ski session.

Dinner was extremely disappointing, it was some sort of fish steamboat which is apparently quite nutritious to koreans. We found out that this fish was hanged out in the open thru rain and shine. No pictures cos we forgot to take.

As dinner was a tad too disappointing, I went to buy fried chicken back at the hotel and look at the size!

On the third day morning, we had breakfast which consists of mainly american breakfast, cereals and some kimchi whichever you want buffet style. So much choices that it was the best breakfast I had in Korea.

We then took the cable car ride up to dragon peak to play with snow!

For lunch we went to town to have fried cabbage chicken. My sister read up about this, apparently, the koreans would eat the pan fried cabbage and chicken first before adding rice in to fry to finish up the meal. After having steamboat for 4 consecutive non-breakfast meals, I'm really glad for a change!

After lunch we proceeded to NamiNara Republic it's a very small island and was one of the highlights in the show, Winter Sonata.

For dinner we had the much talked about Ginseng Chicken. It was good except that the ginseng was abit too small and my sister later found out from the menu that what we had was the cheaper version.

We then proceeded to do some night shopping at DongDaeMon, which was essentially a place with lots of imitation products. After which we arrived at our hotel close to 10pm. Looks like my virgin casino trip has got to wait till the next day as we were too tired walking around the whole day.

On the fourth day morning, we had porridge for breakfast before heading to a ginseng place for tourist where my mum and sis bought quite an amount of ginseng. I secretly took some exotic ginseng pictures. After which we headed to learn how to make kimchi although I must say the way they teach might as well don't teach us. Tried on the traditional korean costumes as well.

Lunch was sulphur duck soup which was made popular in the show DaChangJin. It was not too bad.

After lunch we head towards Everland opened by Samsung. The tour guide told us that Samsung is korean's pride. During the economy crisis, Although they do not have the money to pay staff, they still hire and promised the staff that once the crisis is over, they will be paid. Also they did lots of charity work. Even though Samsung products are more expensive then LG's. Koreans will mainly still buy Samsung's products.

At Everland, we went to safari world first before heading to other attractions. It was also one my virgin visit to a "big" theme park. Although my mum assured me that US has got much more bigger ones.

We then had BBQ Black Pig for dinner, It was delicious and possibly the best meal I had in korea so far. The pig is black in colour and its meat is supposedly more tender which I concurred.

After dinner, we check back into our hotel where some of the tour's people quickly formed a casino party and shared cabs to the casino. I played jackpot there and in total I lost 60000 won which was equivalent to $100 singapore dollars. My highest win was 20000 won though.

On our day of departure, we headed towards a taiwanese restaurant. Our tour guide says koreans usually cannot take too oily food and therefore rules out many countries delicacies. However the taiwanese restaurant that we are going is quite successful though. We had porridge and other small side dishes there.

We then headed to Myeondong just before lunch and went shopping around and eating street food.

For our lunch we settled for a korean restaurant and order a few korean dishes we did not get to taste and was seen in DaChangJin.

After which we proceed to NamDaeMon, where the things there are really really cheap. I bought a packet of seaweeds and 2 different kinds of cuttlefish. It was worth it. However, time was short on us, we did not get to shop longer and had to board our bus which will bring us back to Incheon airport. On the bus, the tour leader collected "tips" from us with this cool looking specs!

Although it was a short few days trip, I really love it, I wonder when will my next trip be.

So my exams have been over for a week and I haven posted anything until after Valentine's Day. Before all of you people rejoice that I might be in fact was planning a V Day surprise for my girl? The answer is No because I don't have a girl as much as I wish to have one. It is however Lazy plus Busy. Maybe I should invent a new word that combines both meaning like Luzy? or Basy?

Been really busy packing my bags for my trip next week. Yes I'm flying SQ!!! Hurrah! Finally I get to take a plane. Then there's also accompanying my mum out to taste more local hawker fare like Bak Kut Teh and many other stuffs.

Anyway in case you guys need to really know what I was up to on Valentine's Day. It is at the dojo practising Aikido.

p.s: Just Follow Law is really really funny. It got me laughing till my stomach hurts within the first minute. Especially if you work in the civil service be it DXO, Regular, NSF or a normal civil servant. You would understand what the show meant!

Mahjong Xiao

This month has really been crazy gambling month, with 4 sessions of Texas Hold'em and 7 sessions of Mahjong... Lose some Won some... So no treats for you readers...

My mum has already been back for 2 weeks already... 15 and a half years since she left Singapore. I must admit I couldn't recognise her and even felt there might be an awkwardly moment when I was waiting to meet her. Thankfully, I think I'm not the only one as even my grandparents also cannot recognize their own daughter. It was quite funny yet touching moment for me. I thought that this sort of scene only happens in movies but there it was.

Many buildings and malls have since rise over the green land. Went eating all sorts of hawker food which mummy hasn't eaten since she left. Durians, hokkien mee, kway chap, sambal sting ray, wu xiang, char kway teow, carrot cake, oyster omelet, claypot rice, fish head bee hoon. Eating all hawker food with my mummy reminds me of when I was small when my mum would bring my sister and I to hawker centers and eat different variety of dishes. There are many other things she hasn't eaten too. But well she's only leaving after Chinese New Year on March 4th so there's still plenty of time.

Exams are next week and mummy planned a 4 days 3 night trip to hongkong with grandparents to visit grandpa's relatives. Which coincide just in time with my exam period. So I can concentrate better. Can't wait for my Seoul trip!!!
